Ethos solarizes 819 farms in the state of Haryana

Ethos Power has successfully deployed solar pumping systems on 819 farms across the state of Haryana. The Off-grid systems will not only generate 5900 MWh clean energy annually to fulfil the irrigation needs but also offset 3500 tons of CO2 per year. Ethos shall provide comprehensive O&M (Operation and Maintenance) of the systems for next 5 years.

Each of these systems is powered by a 4800 Wp Solar PV Array and a MPPT based Solar Pump Controller. The Solar Pump Controllers are equipped with GPRS based Remote Monitoring System for real time transfer of data pertaining to power consumption, frequency, daily water output, the UP TIME of the system and other critical parameters. These systems have been tested and certified by international testing agencies (such as TUV Rheinland) to deliver more than 1,00,000 litres of water per day under STC.

The state government has recently launched an ambitious Off-Grid Solar Pumping Program to save on its annual Subsidy bill of more than US$ 1 Billion on electricity for agricultural purposes. Farmers only need to pay 25% of the system cost while the balance would be paid by the state government and the MNRE (Ministry of New & Renewable Energy).

The above-said program is a pre-cursor to the INR 1400 Billion KUSUM scheme launched by Indian government in 2018 to solarize the Indian farms and provide 2.75 Million Solar pumping systems (1.75 Million Off-grid + 1 Million Grid-connected).
